Delete your account and data
Signing in to Petite Tales is optional. Your family’s stories are tied to an anonymous family ID that lives on your phone (and to your account, if you signed in), and you can delete everything from the app in a few taps.
Delete your account
If you signed in with Apple, Google or email (the steps are the same on iPhone, iPad and Android):
- Open Petite Tales and tap the settings button on the Tonight screen.
- Tap the three numbers the grown-ups’ gate spells out in words (for example “seven, two, four”).
- Under Your account, tap Delete account, then confirm. You may be asked to confirm it’s you: Apple’s sheet, Google’s account picker, or your password.
This deletes everything listed below, the record linking your account to your family, and the account itself. If you signed in with Apple, the app’s access to your Apple Account is revoked as well. If you back out of confirming, or our server can’t be reached, nothing is deleted.
Delete everything without an account
- Open Petite Tales and tap the settings button on the Tonight screen.
- Tap the three numbers the grown-ups’ gate spells out in words (for example “seven, two, four”).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete all our data, then Delete everything.
This needs an internet connection. If our server can’t be reached, nothing is deleted and the app says so.
What is deleted
- Every personal story, from your phone and from the family backup on our server (text, pictures and narration).
- Every child profile and painted portrait on your phone.
- Your family’s records on our server: subscription status, this month’s story and portrait counts, and any unused extra stories.
A few records that hold nothing about your child expire on their own: the link between a purchase and your family ID (a few days after the subscription ends), the record that a purchase was already credited (about 13 months), and short counters that limit repeated requests (two days). Crash reports hold no personal details and are kept by Firebase under its own retention policy.
Deleting data doesn’t cancel a subscription. To stop Plus on iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Petite Tales. On Android, open Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Petite Tales.
Smaller steps
- One story: in My Stories, press and hold the story, then Delete. It’s removed from the phone and the backup.
- One child: Settings → the child → Remove. Their profile and portrait leave the phone; stories already made stay until you delete them.
Already uninstalled the app?
Uninstalling removes everything that was on the phone. If you had Plus, copies of your personal stories are still in the family backup, and they are deleted automatically 90 days after your subscription ends.
To delete them sooner, reinstall Petite Tales and, using the same Apple Account (iPhone or iPad) or Google account (Android) you subscribed with, tap Restore purchases in Settings under Petite Tales Plus. That reconnects the app to your family’s backup; then use Delete all our data as above.
If you signed in, reinstall Petite Tales, sign in with the same account in Settings (that brings your family’s stories back to the phone), then tap Delete account as above.
If that isn’t possible, write to contact@bitfuzed.com and we’ll help. If you signed in with Google or email, tell us that address and we’ll delete the account and its family. Otherwise we can’t find a family by name or email, so tell us what you can (for example, roughly when you subscribed) and we’ll work it out with you.
